school, school, & more school

Any ideas what this post might be about? Yes, me :) So I was a super slacker for like 2 months there, and then this past month I've just been too busy. I could make this a very long post about everything going on in my life, but I'm just gonna vent about school for a minute. I've been working on my english paper for the last hour, and I'm now having some issues on what to write next, so I'm writing on here.

I'm taking 17 credit hours this semester. I didn't really realize just how much that would be until about 2 weeks ago when I started them :)

Biology 1010 - By far my most favorite class. I absolutely love my teacher. He is freakin hilarious, and "speaks my language" I guess. I seriously understand everything he says and I've actually come to realize that I love biology itself. Chemistry will be a different story though... The only potentially bad thing about this class is we are solely graded on tests. We have no homework or anything to help our scores. Good thing I've always been a pretty good test taker.

Psychology 1100 - This class is Human Development. It's pretty easy and my course load is pretty easy too. My teacher is crazy though. She gets distracted so easy and we never EVER do or finish what we're supposed to do in a day though. The sweetest thing is that we have like 3 quizzes per unit, and if we get an 85% or better on all the quizzes then we don't have to take the test for that Unit and we get an automatic A. So, I'm pretty confident that I should ace this class.

English 1010 - Hate hate hate hate it already. English has always been my best subject. I enjoy the literature aspects of it and stuff. BUT this class is a writing class. I have a paper due everyday. The one that is open in my microsoft word currently, is a 900 word (3page) due tomorrow about this stupid video we watched in class the other day that was about 20 minutes long. Ugh.

Math 1000 - Oh math. For some reason it has always been my enemy. I haven't taken math since my sophomore year of high school (4years ago). Because, I only took enough to graduate cuz I hated it so much. I had to take a placement test to find out which class I needed to be in since my ACT scores are too old. So, I tested into this one, over passing 890 and 990, but not quite getting into 1010. I was totally ok with that because I know I need more practice. My thinking was that after this class I would try to test out of 1010 and get right into 1050 (which is what I need for nursing). If not, just take 1010 and move a little bit slower than I would like. SO... come to find out on my first day of class that 1000, the one I'm in, is a combination of 990 and 1010! CRAP! So it's pretty hard and we go extremely fast cuz we have so much to cover. I have no fears about passing the class... just about getting an A. I do love my teacher though and the math lab on campus that offers free tutoring is slowly becoming my new best friend.

Nutrition 1020 - I don't have too much to say about this class. I only have it once a week. My teacher is nice enough, it's just fairly boring. I don't see it causing any problems. I'm sure I will get an A

Now, the reason I am stressing about getting an A in every class. I've known from the beginning how hard the nursing program is to get into. The wait list can be up to 2 years sometimes. So, I've been stressing to myself and everyone around me how important it is to get a 4.0, so that way I get put higher up on the list and accepted into the program faster. But, if I didn't get a 4.0 it'd still be ok, just a longer wait. Come to find out last week, I WAS WRONG!! The entering gpa for the nursing program right now is a 3.98. Meaning, you can't even be accepted unless you have a 3.98. Talk about stress!!! So now I HAVE to get a 4.0. If I don't get an A in a class, I have to retake that class over and I really really really don't want to do that.

So yea, that's school in a nutshell as of right now. Everyone pray for me and my grades that I can keep up the 4.0 :D
