dear blog

I'm sorry you are so neglected. You just haven't been on my mind that much lately. I promise I will pay lots and lots of attention to you really really soon.

Love,
Kiley

cute skeleton

I didn't see Riley on Halloween, but his mom and dad sent me some pictures of the cute little skeleton with his princess sister

this is halloween

Again, sorry I'm super behind but I'm almost caught up. I carved pumpkins with Jordan like a week before Halloween. I did a very simple ghost and he did the Batman symbol. We had lots of fun. On Friday the 30th we had our Halloween party at work. Jodi brought Kay of course and she also brought Kenadie so I would have a friend to play with too :) The girls got tons of candy and then we had our company costume contest which was awesome, and then Cat in the Hat came and read a story to all the kids. It was lots of fun.

So then on Halloween mom put together this big party thing for the girls and invited our cousins too. Jordan and I helped decorate the garage and blow up balloons and stuff. So everyone came and they did a cake walk, pin the nose on the pumpkin, donuts on a string, wrap the mummy... lots of fun stuff. The kids loved it and mom put lots of work into it. I think one of the best moments was Jodi and I going against each other bobbing for apples :) The bucket was way too small for our heads and since she has a much bigger head, she was able to push mine out of the way and get hers in there. So then I decided to just push her head down with mine and keep her under water for a minute :) She won, but I stayed completely dry and got plenty of enjoyment and a couple bruises out of it too. After that we went trick-or-treating and came back and just hung out for the rest of the night. So here's a slideshow from all of the mentioned activities.

Happy birthday Bays!

I can't believe my little Baylie is 9 years old! Holy crap! It won't be too much longer before she will be able to start taking over the family babysitting for me :) Bay is such an awesome girl. She's so smart and such a good girl. I love you Bay!

cute Kenadie

Hee-Haws

I'm a bit behind on my blogging, but at least I'm semi keeping up with it :) We went to Hee-Haws pumpkin patch a couple of weeks ago. It was all the fam plus Kristin & Bryn were here that weekend so that was an added bonus. Of course, the best part of it was that I got to baby-sit Riley that day so he got to come too :) I seriously love that kid. Anywho, I have lots of random pictures. The kids had lots of fun and then we went back to the house and had pizza and hung out. So, I just made a slide show of the day

go Utes!

Jeri and I went to the Utah vs. Air Force game on Saturday. It was so much fun. It poured for like 5 minutes at the begininng and then stopped. But we were soaked and it was really windy, so that made for a very cold rest of the game. But I loved the atmosphere and of course the football. It was actually a really good game to see too cuz it was pretty intense. They went into overtime and of course Utah ended up winnning!

what an awesome sight

it was sooo cold!

they presented a game ball to President Monson, so cool

this is how i looked pretty much the whole game... i got hit on a LOT :)

seaworld in utah

Seaworld comes to my company and brings some animals for us to see every year. I was a little bit disappointed with it this year, it was quite a bit better last year. But oh well, we saw a few really cool animals and it's on work time so that's always good :)

me & kay

that's an armadillo

he was carrying this freakin crocodile like it was a baby and it's mouth wasn't even taped!

we got to pet it, it felt really cool

happy birthday to me

So, my birthday was over a month ago but I had to show off the cool presents I got. I am now officially legal. Woot woot!

I have already gotten much use out of this baby. LOVE IT!

my bestie Jeri got me this awesome blanket. it is so so soft and I love love love it

my cutest little sunbeam Eli got me these flowers :)

I got plenty of other little things which I'm also very grateful for, but these are the couple I actually took pictures of. It was a good day :)

whatever word is stronger than ecstatic

is how I feel about November 20th. I know when you hear that date you know exactly what I'm talking about. I bought my ticket today. Friday, November 20th at 1 oclock will bring much happiness to my life. I had no desire to go to the 2:30am showing this year. I think that would be due to the fact that I wanted to slap pretty much every girl in that theater last year. We're in a movie. You don't clap and scream and tell Edward how much you love him. He can't hear you. Plus I didn't feel like not getting any sleep that night AND I told myself I can be patient enough to wait until one in the afternoon. I sure am growing up.

he is #1

Slate magazine just published an article here about the 80 most powerful people in America over the age of 80. Guess who was #1, at the very top of the list. President Thomas S. Monson. Awesome. I love my prophet & my church

He's so cute :)

such a homemaker

...I am becoming. While Andrew & I were dating I made dinner every Saturday & Sunday cuz those are the days he was around at that time. I have decided that I actually like cooking quite a bit. The problem is now I'm back to just myself and it's really a pain to only cook for myself. So anyways, I've been following a couple baking blogs and I saw this recipe and decided I just had to try it.

totally stole this pic off her website cuz mine sure didn't look like that

She calls them "The Motherload Layered Cookie Bars". And holy crap, they were amazing! I made a couple changes myself. I didn't put chocolate chips in the chocolate cookie dough and I didn't put the chocolate on top, I just thought that might be too much. I was in heaven when I tried one of these bad boys. I brought them into work to see what other people thought and I kid you not, they were gone in like less than a minute. I've already had people asking me when I'm gonna make them again. This is definitely a recipe I will continue to use in the future

gotta love missionaries

Sorry to keep posting videos, but I see ones such as this and it seriously cracks me up so I figure other people would enjoy it too. Watch if you please, ignore if you don't :) I posted the lyrics from this song below just in case you can't understand everything he says. He's pretty dang funny.

Hey there Delilah, whats it like at BYU?
Im just a quarter mile away, but feel so far away from you,
But that will do,
Cuz two years from now Ill be with you,
I know thats true.

Hey there Delilah, dont you worry about the distance,
Few more months and I can call you both on Mothers Day and Christmas.
Close your eyes,
Then just think of suits and ties,
But not other guys.

Cuz, you said youd wait for me,
O, you said youd wait for me,
O, Im at the MTC,
O, Im at the MTC, at the MTC.

Now have some patience and dont think of dating Conner,
Cuz two more years you may be done with school,
But Ill return with honor.
I cant wait,
Just two more years till our next date,
It will be great.

O when you told me I was the love of your life,
And I just held you close and kissed you just like Ill kiss my wife.
We said goodbye,
And I gave you my favorite tie,
Theres no need to cry.

Cuz, you said youd wait for me,
O, you said youd wait for me,
O, Im at the MTC,
O, Im at the MTC, at the MTC.

There were RMs who made fun of me and said youll never wait for me,
To them I say oh ye, of little faith.
Cuz weve been dating for two months and I think that thats long enough,
To know someone enough to feel this way.
I carry your picture with me and talk about you constantly,
Im driving my companion insane,
And youre to blame.

Woke up this morning, checked the mail right at dawn,
And just believe me girl how shocked I was to read those words,
Dear John, I think were through,
I meet a guy better than you,
Go ahead and cry if you want to,
Sincerely Delilah, missing you,
P.S. were through.

O, you didnt wait for me,
O, you didnt wait for me,
O, you didnt wait for me,
O, and Im only at the MTC, at the MTC

oh life

Every time I feel really motivated to blog and feel like I have something worth blogging about, I don't have a chance to blog. And then when I do get a chance, I can't remember what I wanted to say, or frankly I just don't feel like blogging :) Here are the bullet point updates of my life for the last month or so. In no particular order...

- I am unengaged. Most people that read my blog would know that already, but I needed to write an official update. I broke off my engagement with Andrew the day after Labor Day. It ended really "well" meaning there really isn't any hard feelings between us or anything. He was really hurt and upset at first, but he wrote me an email a couple days after and said that after he had been able to sit back and think about it too, he didn't feel it was right either. So, I hate the fact that I've now been engaged before... I kind of wanted it to be a one time thing, but oh well. It was for the best and I will find someone one day who is better fit for me.

- Andrew and I took the girls to the zoo and it was so much fun. Last time I was at the Hogle Zoo was years ago and it was having a bunch of work done and was only like half the size that it is now. So I was pleasantly surprised at how much bigger it was. Baylie and Avrie had a blast and I always love taking them to stuff that they actually enjoy. (pictures to come)

- Ron & Lori's anniversary was on Sept 26. They went to Park City for the night so I got to watch Riley from Friday afternoon to Saturday night. That was awesome of course. I love that kid so freakin much. Friday night we went to Avrie's soccer game and then over to Jodi & Mike's to see them for a bit. Ri & Kay were really cute together and he is so much bigger than her. Saturday morning we went out to Baylie's soccer game, came home and tried to get him to take a nap. He was in his crib for almost 2 hours but didn't sleep a wink. I had tickets to take the girls to the circus that afternoon so since I had Riley I brought him with. Mom came with us too because I actually had a ticket for Andrew since I hadn't planned on not being with him at that time :). The circus started out awesome and I was really excited... but I had a 1 year old that hadn't taken a nap and he was not a happy camper. So I didn't get to enjoy much of the circus, but again, the girls loved it and that's what matters. After the circus we got home and I put Riley down right away and he was out cold. Mom had her RS Presidency over to watch the RS broadcast and Carrie and Jodi came over to watch it too. About a half hour before Ron & Lori came to get Riley I went and got him out of his crib and he stayed asleep so I got to cuddle with him that whole time which was amazing. So that was a really good weekend for me. Really, any time I spend with Ri is pretty much the best.

- #15 & #16 are on the way!!! Jodi & Missy announced on the same day that they are both expecting. I'm super stoked about that.

- I went to the Scarlet Pimpernel for the first time and holy crap it was AMAZING!! I absolutely loved it and it hasn't left my CD player since that day :)

- Oh, duh! I turned 21! Haha, I really almost forgot about that. Sept 22 I became legal. Not that that has any significance to me because I don't do anything that requires that I be legal. I can however drive a rental car if the occasion ever calls for it. I had a good birthday, I'll post pictures and talk about that more in it's own post.

- I have started dating again. Not a lot but starting to. That's been fun. I have a couple guys that I'm pretty interested in right now. But, I have new rules and guidelines for myself in that area. I have learned a lot :) So, I am having fun and nothing serious is going to happen for a while.

- My pops and I went and did baptisms together. This is a significant event because it's the first time in about 9 years that we've gone to the temple together. So that was special and I'm glad I got to do that with him. We're gonna go down to Manti one Saturday this winter. I love that temple and I really want to go in it. I would really like to be married there, but we'll see if that's gonna work when the time comes.

Alrighty, I think that is all the updates I'm due for right now. I will try to be better about keeping up with this thing. It's a lot easier when there's fun events going on in my life. Which I guess looking at this post there has been quite a bit, but I have really been dreading talking about breaking the engagement off. But, it's all good now. I'm happy and moved on :)

Washington vacation

So we went to Andrew's family reunion a couple weekends ago. We left Thursday the 13th. That day was spent driving to his parent's house which is in Longview, WA. It's about a 12 hour drive.

Friday it was us, his parents, and his 2 little cousins Christy & Josh. The plan was to go to the Space Needle in Seattle which is about a 2 hour drive from Longview. Andrew had said he also wanted to go see the Seattle temple too, since it was only a few minutes away from the Space Needle, and neither of us had ever been there before. So we stopped there and walked around the temple grounds for a bit, it was really pretty.

So we did go to the space needle. We didn't actually go up it because the wait for tickets was almost an hour and then the wait to go up was another hour or so. None of us really felt like it was worth it. We got some lunch and walked around a bit and then headed for home.

Saturday was the family reunion. It was at Andrew's mom's cousin's house. It was Andrew's gma's kids and families, and her brother's kids and families. It was very laid back. We just hung out at the house, had some food, and took pictures.

Sunday morning Andrew & I went to church at a local ward in Longview (Andrew is a convert and no one else in his fam is a member). After church we went over to his cousin's house for their son's Police themed bday party. He turned 4, such a cutie! After the party we went and visited with his grandparents for a bit and went to dinner.

Monday was spent making our way back home. It was a lot of fun. I'm really glad I went with him. His family is awesome. There's a ton of pics to go with this post, so I think I'll put them in a slide show

The I.T Crowd

Alright so, I'm not one that has a bunch of favorite tv shows that I have to watch. I don't record every episode of any show. I've never watched the office or anything like that. But this show is the funniest thing I have ever seen! I watched the first two seasons in two days by myself and was (quite literally) laughing out loud. If you have netflix it is on instant play. I had Andrew watch it and he loved it, also my friends at work are the ones who introduced me to it so obviously they love it as well. If you're trying to figure out something to watch and have netflix, I highly recommend it.

Brynley Madison Wardwell

I totally forgot to blog about my new baby niece because I was out of town when she was born. My brother Troy and his wifey Kristin brought the most beautiful baby girl into the world on July 11. I'm a little upset at Bryn still because if she would've come just five days earlier we would've got to see her since we were in Georgia! It's ok though, I forgive her and love her. I'll get to see her when her and her mommy come out to Utah for a visit in October. Welcome to the world Brynley, we love you!

my brother is gonna be the best daddy

so precious

i love this dress, she is too cute

Cirque du Soleil

So, a few months ago when Andrew and I first started dating he mentioned that he went to Cirque du Soleil in Vegas and loved it. I'm not gonna lie, I had no idea what it was. So I got online and googled it and it looked interesting enough. So then I saw that it was coming to Salt Lake this month and I just had to get tickets for him. His reaction was priceless, he was super excited and it made it all worth it to get them :) So we went last night. I was excited but not like on the edge of my seat excited or anything like he was. It was pretty freakin awesome though. There were a few parts that dragged just a little, but overall it was fantastic. Those people are so ridiculously talented and can do things with their bodies that I couldn't even imagine doing. It was a great time and I would definitely suggest it to anyone.

cameras weren't allowed, so this is the only pic we could get from andrew's phone

This video is like 8 minutes long, but these were the trapeze performers we saw. They were AMAZING and literally made me nervous. I jumped a couple times while watching them

Riley weekend

Last Saturday I got to watch Riley for a few hours in the morning. Andrew came over and we took him to meet up with Carrie & Jodi for swimming. This was the first time Andrew has met Riley so it was kind of a big deal. Ri was a little hesitant about him at first and wouldn't let go of me, but then Andrew started playing catch with him and he was Ri's best bud after that. I wish we would've gotten some pics or video of Riley at the pool, he was soooo freakin cute! He absolutely loves the water and if someone wasn't holdin on to him he'd try and take off on his own. It was so fun and I'm so glad I got to have that experience with him.

So Sunday was fast sunday dinner. The Tolmans come every 3 months so the whole family gets to see Riley, and Lacey, Ron, & Lori of course :) Not too much to report on this day. We celebrated Carrie & Mike's bdays coming up this month and just played games and hung out. It was a really good weekend

the two boys that I love more than anything!

This game is called washers, it's exactly like horseshoes except you have to get these washers in the boxes. We played guys against girls, I'll give you one guess who won... us of course :)

cutest boy ever!

Pioneer day weekend

Andrew's mom decided to come down for a visit over the weekend of the 24th. Friday I had the day off work cuz my company is awesome like that. We went and picked her up from the airport and then went to lunch at Applebees. Then we took her to her hotel and Andrew had to go to work. Friday night, mom & dad (being the awesome parents they are) and I took her out to dinner. It went really well. So then Saturday we started the morning by touring the conference center. Neither Andrew or his mom had ever been there before, so that was a really cool thing for them to see. We took the tour with the guide so we got to go up on the roof and everything, which I had actually never done. The gardens on the roof were really pretty, and the view of the temple and the rest of SL was amazing.

After that we grabbed some lunch and headed to the Oquirrh Mountain temple open house. Andrew is a convert to the church and his parents don't really know anything about it so it was really cool to be able to share that with her. Of course she had lots of questions, and I was actually proud of my ability to answer most of them. I guess I did learn some stuff back when I didn't pay attention in Sunday school :) Anywho, it went really well overall. The only slightly awkward moment for me was when she asked where they (her & her family) would be when Andrew got married. Explaining to her that they would just be waiting in the annex was not the most fun thing. Hopefully, by seeing how important the temple is to Andrew and understanding that he won't settle for anything less, will spark her interest more when the time comes.

So, after the temple we came back to my house and had a BBQ with the whole fam. She has 5 sisters, so my worries about the family overwhelming her weren't really necessary. Anywho, I'm glad she came down and I had the opportunity to meet her. Next weekend Andrew and I are going up to Washington for his family reunion, so I'll be meeting all the rest of his family then.

I love to see the temple

So, on the 23rd I had the opportunity to go and do baptisms at the temple. This is the first time I've been to the temple in about 6 years. I don't really know what to say. I am extremely grateful for the chance I had to go back to the temple. It's been a long and pretty rocky road for me, and I'm just glad to be back on track. Anywho, I brought my camera, but the only pic we got was from mom's iphone of me & Jod.

Bath time

I got to babysit Riley the other day and Jodi was over, so we decided to give Ri & Kay a bath together. It was so cute!

cute bum bums!

Family pictures

We got family pictures done while we were in GA for the 4th. It's crazy that we were able to have the entire family together. It was definitely a challange trying to get all the kids to cooperate, but what can ya do. We still got some really cute ones
