a boy and his blanky

Jaxson is beyond obsessed with his blanky. The sweetest part about it is that it used to be Riley's blanket. Jax has had it for a year but just in the past couple of months has started bringing it EVERYWHERE. It comes in the car, and into certain places with us, he's really good about leaving it in the car if we can't bring it in though. I just wanted to document these pictures cuz I think it is just too sweet.

(I have a million more pictures but they are all on my phone and no matter how I edit them blogger turns them to the side. So annoying, ugh!)

Halloween

I will not say I'm going to go back for the past few months and update things, because that just overwhelms me and makes me not want to blog. So, we'll just start with Halloween and see what happens :)

I have been waiting for my child to be old enough for my turn with the infamous monkey costume in our family. I was so excited to have Jax wear it this year. So a couple weeks before Halloween I decided to try it on and it went a little something like this

So we decided to scratch that and find a costume that was as close to normal clothes as possible, since dressing him up is purely for our pleasure anyway :) Plus, he should still fit into the monkey next year. So we decided on Superman. Unfortunately none of the costumes his size came with spandex pants which I really wanted, so I debated on making a costume, but we all know I'm too lazy for that. So we just bought one and it turned out so cute! Of course I think spandex would've been so adorable on his chubby legs, but he looked like a stud regardless. So, superman he was.

We went to the annual party that mom puts on in the garage before trick-or-treating and had so much fun. Mom really goes all out, and that's just one reason why she's the best mom/grandma that there is!

Rian's getting a little too cool for dressing up ;P

a bunch of people already took off, this was the best "group shot"

Jaxson exceeded all my expectations with trick-or-treating. I didn't really expect for him to be interested and go to very many houses. But, after a couple of houses he got the hang of it and absolutely LOVED it. About a block from my parents' house we were coming down someone's driveway and we saw DADDY! He was the only one who showed up to class so he got his attendance points and the teacher let him go so he came and surprised us! And it was the best surprise. He got to see how cute Jax was and got to take him to some houses. I'm sure Jax would have kept going had we let him, but it was dark and we decided he had plenty of candy. It was a great Halloween. I'm so glad my boy is starting to get into Holidays, it makes it so much more fun for me. Can't wait for him to see all his presents on Christmas!

Love these studs!

Father's Day

Jax and I are so blessed to have James in our life. He is working so hard to make our future better and we love him to death. Since we are broke beyond broke I wasn't allowed to spend much but I hope he knows how much we love and appreciate him.

(don't know why this is flipped) He got the breakfast he requested in the morning

and just this small little thing

This boy sure loves his daddy

Riley Samuel turns 4

Riley's birthday is May 29 and if you still try to tell me that he's 4 I just won't believe you. This boy changed my life and was the best thing that ever could've happened to me. I'm so glad I decided to have him and give him the family that I did. Anyone who knows him or his family knows he's exactly where he's supposed to be. I'm so grateful that I get to be apart of his birthdays and watch him grow up. On his birthday, Jax and I went over there for dinner and watched him open his presents from his mom and dad. He got a new bike which he was so excited about. Then the next week I took him on a little date and go shopping to pick out his own presents. He's my favorite 3 4 year old in the world and I love him more than anything.

Lacey made him this present, it was the cutest thing. She's such a good big sister

Seeing that it's a bike

We got yogurt on our date

Mother's Day

On the actual day of Mother's Day I was so sick. I was up the whole night before throwing up and not sleeping. I was in so much pain, it was awful. Obviously I didn't want my breakfast in bed, but James made it anyway for him and Jax, and that made me throw up. It was no fun. James did make me breakfast a couple days later when I was feeling better though. I got tickets to a Real game for my present. I knew before hand cuz James wanted me to pick which game I wanted to go to. We went to the FC Dallas game which turned out to be a good choice. It was an awesome game, Real won 3-2 in the 90th minute. It was intense.

I love being a mom. I'm so grateful for my precious angel that calls me mommy, and all our future ones as well. I love James for making me a mom and for taking me to a game that he wasn't necessarily interested  in just cuz he knows I would love it. However, James has really gotten into soccer lately and he really enjoyed the game. He's brought up going to another one :) I love that man.

Also, I haven't taken hardly a single picture on my camera since I got my Iphone. It has a great little camera and is so much easier. So these are all Iphone pictures

It was freaking freezing!

James' birthday celebrations

James' actual birthday wasn't too exciting. It was on a Thursday so he had work and school all day and got home at about 10:30 that night. He got himself some Cafe Rio on the way home and he had a cold stone ice cream cake for his cake. We are big fans of these cakes and get them with any excuse we can. He also got the usual money from my parents (thank you!) a Cafe Rio gift card, a few new shirts and pants, some black church socks, and tickets to the Avengers.

he loves Cafe Rio

yummy ice cream cake

he got this shirt and pants as presents

So since he had kind of a lame birthday, I planned a little surprise getaway for the next weekend. I couldn't keep it secret for too long because A, I'm really bad at keeping secrets and B, with his work schedule lately I had to make sure he'd be able to get the time off. So Friday he got off work early and we went to Tucanos for a linner. This is the only picture I took the whole time (oops). James splurged and got a filet mingon skewer and we just enjoyed an almost empty restaurant and a whole lot of meat. It was soooo yummy.

Then we walked next door to go see the Avengers. It definitely did not disappoint. I'm not big into any super hero movies and I don't know much about most of the characters but that didn't matter. I was able to follow it and it was so so good. I really want to go see it again. Dang movie prices.
Then, thanks to Hotwire I got us a steal for a room at the Radisson downtown. It was nice to just spend the evening together and sleep in (for James :)).

Once I woke James up we went and got this little stud and went to lunch at Texas Roadhouse together. A huge thank you to my sister and mom for watching him. It's so nice that James and I can take that time to be together without Jax. It was a great weekend, I'm so glad my sweet hubs was born and I know he enjoyed his birthday :)
